Description

All things considered, Cobra is an extremely versatile shoe, giving the beginning player even more options than our basic trainer... Bandit. All edges are smooth and rounded for easy release for either turn or flip techniques. Not only is Cobra a great training shoe, it's also a great all around horseshoe for general use, making it the perfect picnic/backyard set, but also great for league and tournament play. They are designed to take a beating... daily use is expected! But if used only occasionally, a set of Cobras could last a lifetime. The Cobra Horseshoe is our second entry level model. Like Bandit, it is designed to help players learn to perfect either the turn or flip pitch, but it has a few added features for turn players. Cobra is a modification of the more sophisticated Imperial Horseshoe. The more compact, lighter tips compared to that of the Imperial is intentional, as the off-balanced weight distrbution helps the beginning player to engrain the flip or turn technique much faster. For flip pitchers, the rear thumb cleat is nearly flat, allowing for perfection of the cleats down technique. On the inside center edge of the shoe, there are notches on either side of the small ringer break that help the flip player to learn proper finger placement and spacing. For the turn player, Cobra features long straight blades, giving the player ample room to adjust grips up and down the blade, making it easy to experiment with all the various turns. The rounded backend gives the player additional position to hold for the turn and allows the player to try off-center flipping from the corner/shoulder gripping point, also a nice spot to hold for the 3/4 flop technique. Cobra replaced the Diamond Tournament Shoe in our offering when Diamond ceased production in 2009. The option for the complete game set includes two official size cold rolled steel stakes, 1" x 30".
